We know it is hard to find canvas tents for sale online. Our site answers most questions, and we are happy to help by phone or email. When you buy from Wall Tent Shop, you get outstanding quality, a fair price, and a 2-year guarantee. We stand behind our products. Rich, Owner.
I live in a canvas wall tent six to seven weeks a year while hunting elk, deer, and bear in the Idaho wilderness. I designed the Wilderness tent based on 50 years of tenting experience. Our canvas tents and stoves have been tested in harsh weather. I offer top-quality tents at affordable prices.
Packages work well if you want a complete setup. The most popular package includes the tent, frame, stove, and tarp fly to protect the roof.
You can buy a canvas tent customized for your build. Options include window placement, stove jack placement, clear windows, air conditioning vents, screen doors, porches, and cook shacks.
Available on Wilderness fire-treated models. The 6-foot side wall option adds usable space for about a 10 percent increase in cost.

A canvas camping tent is a type of outdoor shelter made from canvas fabric, which is a heavy duty woven textile. These tents are popular for camping, hunting, and glamping. They are known for durability, breathability, and comfort in many weather conditions. Common models include wall tents, bell tents, dome tents, and A-frame tents. We specialize in canvas wall tents.

Our Wilderness canvas tents are built for strength, long term use, and value.
Wilderness models are usually the lowest priced options available while still offering reinforced construction and strong customer support.
All Wilderness tents use Army Duck double fill canvas. This canvas is dense, durable, breathable, and designed for four season use.
Double fill canvas uses two ply yarns in both directions, making it stronger and smoother than single fill canvas used by some competitors.
The bottom line: Army Duck canvas offers durability, weather resistance, mold resistance, and long service life.
Size depends on people, gear, stove use, and comfort expectations. Our capacity recommendations are based on decades of real world use, not marketing claims.
Some companies list unrealistic capacities. Our guidance reflects usable living space.
Yes. Army Duck canvas is naturally water resistant and treated for water and mildew protection.
Storm flaps, sod cloth, ridge flaps, and reinforced seams help block wind and rain. A roof fly or tarp adds extra protection.
The Wilderness is our most reinforced tent. It features double layered ridges, reinforced eaves, stress point reinforcement, and YKK zippers.
It is built for demanding environments and backed by a two year warranty.
Fire-treated canvas is fire-resistant but not fireproof. A continuous flame or extreme heat will cause fire-treated canvas to burn. However, if the heat source is removed, the fire-treated canvas will stop burning. Water- and mildew-treated canvas will continue to burn even when the heat source is removed. It is recommended to buy fire-treated canvas. Always have fire-treated material under the stove and a minimum of 12 inches to the front of the stove. Heat from the bottom of your stove can catch dead grass on fire and melt vinyl floors, indoor carpets, and canvas camping tents. When opening the stove door, hot coals can accidentally fall out of your stove and cause a fire. Again, make sure your fireproof material under the stove extends 12 inches past the stove door. The most common fire is a stove jack canvas flap fire that spreads to the rest of the roof. The stove jack canvas flap is used to cover the stove jack hole when a stove is not in use. The stove jack flap must be tightly rolled up and securely tightened with square knots. Securing with square knots prevents the canvas flap from touching a very hot stove pipe, which can cause a canvas tent to catch on fire. Always keep very heavy-duty leather gloves near the stove in the event of any stove issues. Occasionally, strong wind gusts occur that could loosen your stove pipes. With heavy-duty leather gloves, you can quickly reassemble the stove pipes.
I do not buy any canvas camping tents for sale from China, even though China has the lowest prices. That includes other products and materials, too. This has been my policy since 2002. Other tent companies buy most of their tents and canvas from China because it is cheaper. China has unfair trade practices. China places import restrictions on US products and manipulates its currency to obtain an automatic 20% discount to make prices much lower. Cheap, low-quality products take jobs from our country. Additionally, China, per GDP, pollutes three times as much as the United States. China pollutes more each year, while the US is reducing its carbon footprint.
Wash canvas tents with Losso Tent Cleaner, Woolite, or a mild dishwashing liquid. Harsh detergents will adversely affect the water repellency. Use one capful to 2 gallons of lukewarm water. Set your tent up or lay your tent down on the ground or driveway. Use a soft brush or rag to scrub lightly. Hard scrubbing or pressure sprayers can remove the water repellency from the canvas. Do not scrub hard or use a pressure sprayer. It is important to rinse very thoroughly and immediately.
When should you wash your tent? Of course, whenever you notice dirt, you should clean it off. But just as important is to clean canvas outdoor tents after a particularly dry and dusty outing. If you have been somewhere that dust has been kicked up by passing vehicles, it is important to wash the tent or at least hose it off when you get home. A layer of dust on the surface of the tent is an open invitation for mildew.
After washing and rinsing, let your tent dry thoroughly by stretching it out in the sun. Do not fold up your tent for storage while it is damp. It is not a good idea to throw a tent over a hedge or group of bushes. Many bushes contain a harmful acid that could cause damage to canvas tents for sale.
Store your tent in a dry place. Be careful to avoid rolling up twigs and leaves, especially wet ones, in the canvas before storage. These often will leave permanent stains on the canvas. Your eave ropes must be totally dry before storing your tent. If not, the wet eave ropes will cause mold and mildew.
