HOW TO MEASURE WALL TENT FOR FRAMES ANGLES KITS
Click wall tents to view 8 models of wall tents.
Choosing the right frame or angle kit starts with accurate measurements. Proper measurements prevent loose fabric, pressure points, and early wear. Use this guide to measure your tent correctly and avoid ordering the wrong parts.
Overview
• Lay the tent flat on level ground.
• Keep the canvas taut, not stretched.
• Have a second person help hold the fabric tight.
• Measure each point two times to confirm accuracy.
Why Accurate Measurement Matters
Your frame or angle kit is built to the exact size of your tent. Small errors lead to frame stress, crooked roof lines, and poor stove jack alignment. Accurate numbers ensure the frame supports the canvas for years of use, even in strong wind or snow.
Main Measurements
These are the four primary measurements needed for most tents.

Ordering Information
If you already own the tent, send your measurements by phone or email. Frames and angle kits are built custom to match your tent’s size. Precise numbers ensure a long service life and safe performance in harsh conditions.
LAY YOUR TENT ON THE GROUND TO OBTAIN MEASUREMENTS.
YOU WILL NEED SOMEONE TO HELP YOU MEASURE TO ENSURE THE CANVAS IS TAUT WHEN MEASURING
( A ) WALL HEIGHT- Distance from the bottom edge of the canvas to the point where the wall meets the roof seam. This sets the height of the legs and determines how level the roof sits.
( B ) RAFTER/SLOPE- Measure from ridge, (center of ridge grommet) to where roof and wall intersect at the seam. Do not measure the eave- black webbing on wilderness tent.
( C ) WIDTH- Measure from one side wall to the other. This is the full span across the tent floor and determines the length of the ridge pole and rafters.
( D) LENGTH OF TENT- Measure seam to seam along the ridge. This establishes the number of rafters required and the spacing between them.
Additional Notes for Older Tents
If the tent is several years old, measure five to ten inches above the bottom edge. This area stretches less, giving a more accurate number for building a tight and supportive frame.
DO NOT ROUND YOUR NUMBERS- WE NEED EXACT MEASUREMENTS.
Tent frames and angle kits are made custom made for all wall tents to ensure years of service.
