IS THE WILDERNESS CANVAS FIRE RESISTANT
Meets CPAI 84 fire retardant code. If a tent is not specifically treated for fire resistance it will burn quickly. Fire Resistant canvas will only burn when there is a flame source present on the canvas. When you remove the flame source the wall tent will stop burning. However, there is no wall tent made that will not burn.

CANVAS USED IN MAKING THE WILDERNESS HUNTING TENT
WILDERNESS CANVAS IS ARMY DUCK- DOUBLE FILL. The highest quality canvas made. Available in water and mildew treatment or fire, water and mildew treatment.
Yes. A new stove must be cured before using it inside a tent. Curing means baking the paint onto the stove. A new stove will give off a burnt paint smell when first used. This smell will fill the tent and all clothing will absorb it.
Cure the stove outside well before hunting season. Curing takes three to four hours. Detailed instructions are available at curing a hunting tent stove.
A heavier and more durable stove is the better choice. A heavy stove takes more abuse than a lightweight stove. Longer legs increase the distance from the stove to the floor by up to six inches. The taller height also makes loading wood easier.
For a basecamp, the Wilderness rectangular stove or the Camp circular stove are preferred. Wilderness stoves have an approximately ten percent larger firebox than the equivalent Camp stove for longer burn times. Rich, owner.
Weight is the main factor. If a hunter has enough pack animals and prefers a heavy stove, a round stove is the better option. Round stoves fit into panniers or manties easily.
The lightweight Riley Stoves are the highest quality lightweight stoves available.
A stove jack is a sixteen inch square of fireproof material with a four, five, or six inch hole sewn into the tent fabric. The stove jack allows the hot stovepipe to exit the tent safely.
The minimum safe distance from the center of a stove jack to a sidewall is twenty four inches. Always tie the stove jack flap securely so it cannot touch the pipe. Many tent fires occur when the flap touches a hot pipe.
Wall Tent Shop stove jacks are tested with a torch for fire resistance up to seven hundred degrees. Rich, owner.
Yes, if all fire safety steps are followed. Use a fire resistant stove jack. Tie the stove jack flap securely. Install a spark arrestor, and make sure the stove is in good working condition.
Use a fire extinguisher and a fireproof mat under the stove that extends twelve inches past the stove door. For synthetic tents, use a fireproof heat shield secured to the eave frame poles near the stove. Synthetic fabric melts instantly if it touches a hot stove.
6' SIDE WALL OPTION IS AVAILABLE.
Some companies only have 4' 7" sidewalls which severely restricts how much space you can actually use.
Strongly recommend you ask your suppliers the finished height of side walls before purchasing so you will not be surprised or disappointed upon delivery.
6 Foot option only available on FIRE, water and mildew treated tents.
