Cowboy Bedroll - 77" long x 40" wide with a 38" long x 32" wide flap.

• Made of 15 oz. untreated canvas. Recommend that a person water down the canvas bedroll before use.  Wetting down the canvas will help reduce the small spaces between the weaving making the canvas more water resistant.  
•   Provides maximum breathability and reduces condensation.
• Flap folds over top of bedroll providing extra protection for you and your sleeping bag when sleeping under the stars.
• #10 YKK zipper entire length both sides for easy access.
• Nylon straps with buckles for rollup and transporting.
• Cowboy bedroll provides extra warmth even when sleeping in a tent or outside.
• Rolls up to approximately 8" diameter x 17" length - 8 lb.

WHAT IS A COWBOY BEDROLL?

Originally used by old-time cowboys for use primarily when a tent was not available.  Commonly used now by campers, ranchers and hunters.

It is a waterproof sleeping system designed for a sleeping bag to fit inside a water resistant canvas rectangular zippered bag. It is basically used as a heavy duty sleeping bag cover. Can also be used with blankets inside. Just like old -time cowboys used blankets when sleeping bags were not yet invented.

Provides protection from the elements when sleeping outside. Keeps dust, dirt, wind, snow and rain out of sleeping bag. All roll up bedrolls should have a flap to protect a camper's head from weather.  

ARE BEDROLLS USED INSIDE A TENT?

Yes, some campers use a cowboy bedroll inside a tent for extra warmth.

HOW EASY TO TRANSPORT?

Lightweight weighing only 8 lbs. Rolls up very tight with straps and buckles. Can easily be tied down behind saddle if horsepacking.

DO BACKPACKING HUNTERS USE COWBOY BEDROLLS?

Some hunters but not many.  With the advent of lightweight synthetic tents a bedroll is not actually required. Lightweight tents weigh less than a 8 lb bedroll and the tent provides better protection from the weather.
